Getting to know Benni
Benni has just celebrated its 2nd birthday in September 2020, but if you’re just hearing about Benni for the first time, you’re probably wondering who or what Benni is. Or even if you just need a reminder, here’s how we can help employers provide a range of employee benefits.
Launched in 2018, Benni is part of Unum, a leading UK employee benefits provider with 50 years’ experience and expertise in protecting employees and employers.
Benni has been specifically designed to enable small to medium-sized businesses to offer simple and convenient benefits – whether that’s for the first time or to complement an existing benefits portfolio.
Benni offers Critical Illness Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Health Cash Plans, a Cycle to Work scheme, and retail savings and perks. And Benni’s flexibility means businesses can provide them as voluntary benefits, where employees choose and pay for the ones that best suit their lifestyle – meaning minimal cost to the employer, fully company-paid, or a combination of the two. So even if budgets are tight, employers can offer their people protection and peace of mind.
The Benni suite is accessible through Benni’s simple to use digital platform, allowing employees to select and manage their benefits. The Benni platform also enables employers to add certain existing benefits, receive real-time management information and reports, and help HR teams automate activities like managing pension contributions, or holiday buy and sell.
Communicating the benefits available is just as important as choosing which ones to offer. Benni’s products come with one-to-one communications support from Benni’s Engagement Specialists. As well as working with employers to ensure employees understand the benefits available, and the potential value to them and their families, they’ll give employees a tour of the Benni digital platform, showing them how quick and easy it is to make their choices – whether at work or on their personal device at home.
Benni’s Critical Illness, Life and Dental Insurance schemes are provided by Unum, giving the reassurance of strong claims experience and protection from a well-established provider. At the end of 2019, Unum protected 1.7 million people in the UK and paid claims of £326 million - representing in excess of £6 million a week in benefits to our customers - providing security and peace of mind to individuals and their families.
Unum is also committed to workplace wellbeing for both employees and employers. We have a wide range of tools designed to help businesses create or enhance their employee wellbeing strategy.
